These special summer activities are planned for 2009:
Summer Activities offered.
Faith & Nature Camp
Faith and Nature Camp will be held during the week of July 14-18 on Loon Lake. All children entering grades K-8 are welcome to participate, regardless of church affiliation. Spaces are limited to groups of 12 children per grade level, however, and registration forms must be returned to South Church by June 20, 2008.
Each day campers arrive at 9:00 AM, have small group time, worship time, snack, nature programs and field trips, lunch, swimming, recreational games, and closing circle. They depart at 3:00 PM. A special closing ceremony will be held on the final day.
The $75 per child registration fee covers equipment rentals and purchases, field trips, snacks, and T-shirt. This fee is discounted to $60 if you are able to volunteer some of your time. Also, families sending 4 or more children may deduct $15 from the combined total cost. A limited number of camp scholarships will be available. See the registration form for more details.
If you have questions, please contact the church office or camp directors. You will receive a confirmation letter, directions to the campsite, and more information in early July. We look forward to having your child at camp!
Sr. High Canoe Trip
The 2009 canoe trip returns to LaVenredrye Park in Quebec Province. We will leave Newport on July 31 and return on August 8. In preparation for the trip, there is a full-day shakedown paddle on the Connecticut River on July 25.
