Project Description

The building is generally well-maintained and in good condition. The scope of this project is limited to exterior repairs: roofing, masonry, and wooden elements, including the clock tower and steeple. After completion of the roofing phase, the project's cost was revised to $190,000, reflecting an additional $15,000 in work and materials. (See the "Milestones" blog for periodic updates and financial reports.)

The goal of the project is to preserve this historic structure as an architectural and historic landmark for the Upper Connecticut River Valley and as a shared community asset for the town of Newport, New Hampshire. Consequently, we asked our project architect to document the current condition of the building and also to provide good advice for its ongoing maintenance. You can see his recommendations by downloading the Building Conditions Survey.
